The Obituary
Thomasina was baptized into the Catholic faith on March 24, 1951, at Our Lady of Consolation Church, formerly known as Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church. She received her education from West Charlotte High School and participated in an array of activities. Her favorite extra-curricular activity was on the school’s softball team. She proudly graduated in 1955 and soon after joined the workforce. Thomasina worked various jobs and was actually the very last employee to lock the doors of Our Lady of Consolation’s School Activity Building. She later retired from the UniFirst Corp. in 1998. Thomasina loved the Lord and was an active church member. She made the best use of her time by serving on various Ministries, to include the Altar Rosary Society, The Perpetual Hope Gospel Choir, The Golden Wings, and The Prayer Shawl Ministry. The Rosary, in which she is currently holding, is from the Vatican.
Thomasina was quick-witted, full of jokes, loved her family, and did not miss a beat, even leading up to her final days. If you ever needed current events or the latest of news, she was the one to call. WSOC Channel 9 didn’t even know that she was a secret intern for the news station based on her knowledge of everything, ranging from sports, crime, weather, and although she didn’t drive, she knew the traffic. Although Thomasina did not travel internationally, she was well versed in worldly knowledge. Thomasina had the unique ability to use her humor to connect with others and created lasting friendships near and far. A few of her favorite things ranged from rooting on the Carolina Panthers, participating in arts and crafts, crocheting keepsake items, and of course, winning a few rounds of Bingo.
Looking back on her life, the family is elated to know that she lived it to the fullest and is now resting in peace without pain, worry or regrets.
