The OLC Black Culture Committee and the KWANZAA Charlotte Committee celebrated the 4th day of KWANZAA, Ujamaa (oo-jah-MAH) - Collective Economics at the OLC Family Life Center on Tuesday, December 29th. The Evening was hosted by the Charlotte KWANZAA Committee. Brother Corey Muhammad, Student Minister of Minister Louis Farrakhan (Charlotte Mosque 36) was in charge of the program for the evening. Members of the Fruit of Islam in Training and the MGT (Muslim Girls in Training) demonstrated several of their drills. The Senior African Drummers from McCrory YMCA and Dancers from the Oneika Dance Group opened the celebration. The evening "talk" was given by the brothers of Mosque 36 and many vendors in the African Market surrounded the walls of the Fellowship Hall. Cake and pastries were provided to the children by the OLC committee. It was a wonderful evening. Click hereto view photos from the event.
